Dr. Altenbach officially began his college career at the University of Florida, where he initially earned a bachelor’s degree in human nutrition. But he switched gears when he shadowed a general dentist one summer and fell in love with the variety and complexity of the work involved. The more he learned about the different ways dentists could help improve their patients’ lives, the more he was driven to pursue his dental degree.

As a result, Dr. Altenbach earned his dental degree from the University of Florida and has remained committed to continuing education to remain abreast of the most recent technology and treatment options. For instance, today, he is DOCS (Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation) certified and participates with several professional organizations, such as the American Dental Association, among others.

Not only that, but Dr. Altenbach has also achieved Fellowship Status with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. It’s no surprise, then, that the wider dental community has voted him a “Top Dentist” in Jacksonville Magazine on more than one occasion.

When Dr. Altenbach is not in the office helping improve patients’ lives near Beauclerc by enhancing their dental health, he can often be found spending time with his beautiful family. He and his wife, Lydia, met during his third year of dental school and married a week after graduation. The two are now proud parents of three wonderful girls.
